Brig Pantaloon
It was designed by the captain William Simonds as a yacht for the duke of Portland. It was launched on June 10, 1831 in Portland. On October 25, 1831, the yacht was bought by the Admiralty and reconstructed as a military brig. During its service, Pantaloon made cruises to the ports of Portsmouth, Lisbon, to the west coast of Africa. It distinguished itself in capturing of slave traders’ ships. In August 1852, it was disassembled in Portsmouth.
It is just another interesting sailship from Aleksandr Kustov. This model, though being rather small, is recommended for model-makers with some experience. Among peculiarities of printing, you should pay attention that there is printing, imitating cooper by the bottom of the sailship.
