Třebíč Castle, originally a Benedictine monastery in Třebíč, is a national cultural monument in Třebíč-Podklášteří. It was created by rebuilding the original Benedictine monastery during the 16th century. It was the seat of the owners of the Třebíč estate. The restoration, which began in 1957, modified a substantial part of the chateau for the needs of the West Moravian Museum (and archive), and since 2003 the Museum of Vysočina Třebíč. In 2018, it was inscribed on the UNESCO list, along with the Jewish quarter, the basilica and the Jewish cemetery. The Council of the Vysočina Region has approved a memorandum on cooperation between the administrators of the Třebíč facilities registered with UNESCO.
The castle in Třebíč is located in the center of Třebíč, on the left bank of the river Jihlava. It is separated from the river by a castle floodplain, about 50 meters wide and over 300 meters long, built up in the eastern part. The main entrance and entrance is from the street 9. května. However, the chateau complex can also be reached from the south from the floodplain, from the west through the park from U Obůrky Street and from the former farmyard via Nad Zámkem Street.
In 2008, the town of Třebíč took over the chateau park, the original design dates from 2010 and provided for the construction of a café and a fountain. This will not happen, it will be necessary to restore the tree growth. Park paths and lighting will also be restored and benches and small water features will be placed. Historically, the bridge over the gorge was part of the park, which led to a rest in the form of a mushroom, which was called Paraple. In 2019, research into the possible use of the former chateau farm in Nad zámkem Street took place.
