The 10.5 cm gun carriage II for le.F.H. 18/2 (Sf.) "Wespe" (Sd. Kfz. 124) is a self-propelled artillery gun that was developed and built for the German Wehrmacht during World War II.

Even before the start of World War II, the Wehrmacht was working on motorizing artillery. It quickly became clear that towed artillery did not meet the requirements of the dynamic combat of the Panzer divisions in the Blitzkrieg. From 1939 onwards, work began on self-propelled artillery guns.

After initial improvised concepts, such as the 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) on Pz. I B and the complex Panzerselbstfahrlafette IVb project, it was recognized in the spring of 1941 that the "Heuschrecke 10" and "Grille 10" projects, which had been considered as solutions until then, could not be implemented quickly.

In search of an "interim solution", the Panzer Commission decided on July 14, 1942 to develop a self-propelled gun on the chassis of the Panzerkampfwagen II. The Geschützwagen II für le.F.H. 18/2 (Sf.) "Wespe" was designed as a joint project of the companies Alkett (body), MAN (chassis) and Rheinmetall-Borsig (gun) and built by Famo in the acquired Ursus works in Warsaw.
