The PZL TS-11 Iskra was a Polish military jet trainer aircraft that was clearly defeated by the Czechoslovak L-29 Delfín aircraft in the competition for the standard jet trainer aircraft of the Warsaw Pact states in Monin near Moscow in mid-1962. However, its development continued, and later its battle and reconnaissance variants were created. During the 25 years of production, a total of 424 aircraft of all modifications were produced. In 1975, 50 machines were delivered to India, and in the 1990s another 26 units. Iskra was withdrawn from service with the Indian Air Force on 16 December 2004.
