The Škoda 15Tr is a two-section trolleybus manufactured between 1988 and 1995 (prototypes already in the first half of the 1980s) by the Škoda Ostrov company. Since 1995, a modernized version of the Škoda 15TrM has been produced.

The articulated trolleybus 15Tr is structurally based (both in the mechanical part and in the electrical part) on the standard type 14Tr. The 15Tr type was developed in the first half of the 1980s as the first ever purely Czechoslovak articulated trolleybus (when the 10Tr project was not implemented, and the Škoda-Sanos S 200 cars were the result of Czechoslovak-Yugoslav cooperation).

The 15Tr car is a three-axle trolleybus that consists of two parts. They are connected by a joint in the chassis part and a covering bellows. The basis of the entire vehicle structure is a steel frame, on which a self-supporting body is attached. The trolleybus was created by assembling identical or modified parts of the 14Tr car, which is very convenient for maintenance and finding spare parts. There are four double-wing folding doors in the right side. The transversely located passenger seats are covered with leatherette. The interior lighting is fluorescent.

The trolleybus has two traction motors, one on the middle axle, the other on the rear axle (the same motors were used as in the 14Tr type vehicle). Thanks to this, the 15Tr was advantageous when operating in difficult terrain.

The vehicles of the first series delivered had split front windows, later vehicles produced already received single-piece windows. Škoda trolleybuses were initially delivered only in red-cream paint, which was standard for all transport companies of the then Czechoslovakia.

The next continuation of the development was the modernized version of the Škoda 15TrM from 1995.
