The Victory Column (German: Siegessäule) is a victory column in Berlin. It was erected in 1873 as a monument to the so-called "Wars of German Unification" (the Danish-German War, the Prussian-Austrian War and the Prussian-French War). At its top is the 8.3 meter tall statue of Victory. The victory column originally stood in front of the royal palace on today's Náměstí Republiky. As part of the preparation for the construction of the Welthauptstadt Germania, it was moved to its current location - the so-called Big Star).
