The Praga RN (Fast Truck) was a medium-sized truck manufactured by Praga since 1933. The vehicle was powered by a six-cylinder petrol engine. In 1934, a version of the Praga RND (Fast Freight Diesel) was created, equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine. RN / RND vehicles have been modernized many times over time and have been in production for about 20 years. Both types became one of the most widespread trucks in Czechoslovakia, several thousand pieces were also used by the Czechoslovak army. The basic design was a flatbed, RN / RND chassis also created a large number of buses, fire trucks and other special superstructures. Production of the RN type ended in 1953, the RND type in 1955. In total, about 40,000 Praga RN / RND cars were produced in several dozen series, including about 3,700 buses.
The license to produce Praga RN was purchased by Yugoslavia in 1938. The production of Pionir vehicles lasted here until the early 1960s, with about 18,300 units.
