LIAZ (Liberec Automobile Works) was a manufacturer of trucks and special vehicles, which operated in the years 1951–2002 and whose headquarters were officially in Liberec, but the first production plant was established in neighboring Jablonec nad Nisou - Rýnovice. After the relocation of the existing production from Elektro Praga Rýnovice, Elektro Praga Mnichovo Hradiště, Rotex in Liberec Hanychov, Pojizerský plant in cotton in Loukov and other plants in Mnichov Hradiště, individual LIAZ production plants were established. At first, the name LIAZ belonged only to manufacturing companies, while the vehicles produced bore the Škoda brand (it was based on the original concept of the Škoda 706 trucks, the production of which LIAZ began). Until the vehicles of the early 70s XX. century, which was designed in LIAZ as completely new, was named after the manufacturer.
