The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish military unmanned aircraft manufactured by Baykar. It has been deployed militarily in Syria, Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh, the war in eastern Ukraine, and the 2022 war in Ukraine.
The development of Bayraktar was initiated by the US ban on the export of drones to Turkey (due to fears that they would be used against the Kurdistan Workers' Party in Turkey and beyond). Bayraktar TB2's predecessor was Bayraktar Çaldıran (Bayraktar TB1), developed since 2007 and put into service with the Turkish Army in 2011. The TB2 device broke the world record for the duration of flight among unmanned aerial vehicles of the tactical medium UAV class in June and August 2014. He was in the sky at a height of 8 km for 24 hours and 34 minutes. In 2014, the TB2 was used for the first time in combat conditions during an operation in the Turkish part of Kurdistan. It got its name from the surname of the founder of the Baykar company, Ozdemir Bayraktar.

This drone first took off in 2014, powered by a 75 kW Rotax 912 four-cylinder engine with a two-blade adjustable thruster. On November 26, 2021, Baykar announced that the TB2 system had reached 400,000 flight hours.
