Schloss Sanssouci (Schloss Sanssouci) is a summer castle based in Hohenzollern in the eastern part of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam in the German state of Brandenburg. Sanssouci Castle is also often considered a German competitor to the French Versailles. However, it is built in a more intimate Rococo than a Baroque French castle and is remarkable especially for its gardens. Sanssouci thus belongs to the set of palaces and parks in Potsdam and Berlin inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990.
