The 310.0 locomotive series is a typical steam locomotive of the former Czechoslovak Railways. It was a series of small three-car tender locomotives, marked at the Austrian State Railways 97. In the years 1878–1913, 228 locomotives of the 97 series were produced and an indefinite number of locomotives for other local railways (with a different designation). This series of locomotives can be divided into two groups: Locomotives 97.01-97.98 (inclusive) and other machines. They differed in their parameters, but there was no bigger difference. All locomotives were characterized by a bulbous chimney and a tall steam dome, located just behind the chimney.
