A pram is a type of shallow draft flat-bottomed vessel. Historically, they were used to transport agricultural goods or livestock through shallow canals and rivers in Europe. In the 18th century, 2-3-masted ships of this type, capable of carrying 10-50 guns, were also used as warships, especially in the shallow coastal waters of the Baltic Sea during the Northern War. In 1803, at the Bois de Boulogne camp, French troops planned to use them as landing ships for the invasion of England.
